From the top of the mountain, which can be reached by cable car, there is a magnificent view to the south west of the far end of Lake Biwa, the Hira mountains and Chikubushima island.  To the east you can see Mount Ibuki, and to the north Lake Yogo.

Ichijodani  Asakura Clan Ruins

Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins are the ruins of the castle town built by the Asakura, feudal lords of the Warring States Period, five generations of whom ruled the province of Echizen from 1471 for 103 years.  In 1991 the four gardens within the Asakura ruins were designated gSpecial Places of Scenery.h.

Azuchi Castle was built in 1579 by Oda Nobunaga.  It was burned down in 1579  and today some stones, which show the enormous scale of the castle, are all that remain to recall past glory.
